Pet Support

  • Assistance Dog Special Allowance (ADSA) program - provides a monthly payment of $50 to eligible persons who use a guide, signal, or service dog to help them with their disability-related needs. The allowance is to help pay the costs of food, grooming, and health care for the dog.

  • Animal Assistance League of Orange County - provides pet food supplies for those suffering financial hardships.

  • Bakersfield Pet Food Pantry - The Pantry provides emergency pet food to help owners continue caring for their family pets despite economic hardship. We open our doors the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month from, 10am - 12pm, to qualified applicants.

  • Better Together Forever - They provide pet food through three programs: Unsheltered People and Pets, Shelter Prevention (East LA), and Community Engagement.

  • Downtown Dog Rescue - Supplies pet food, medical vouchers and counseling for pet owners in crisis and those struggling to meet their basic needs. Also offers Legal assistance for pet-related housing issues.

  • Fix'n Fidos - provides pet food for pet owners who are still out of work, or are considered low-income

  • Frosted Faces – can help with food for senior pets.

  • Heaven on Earth/Perry's Place Pet Pantry - The Perry’s Place Pet Pantry provides food and other supplies to people in need. They have cat & dog food, cat littler, collars, leashes, harnesses, toys & enrichment items.

  • Kern County Animal Services - They have a Pet Food Safety Net Program that provides short-term pet food distribution to Kern County residents.

  • LA Animal Services – The Pet Food Pantry is a community resource to assist low-income families and individuals in the City of Los Angeles experiencing financial hardship who need help feeding their animal companions. The Pet Food Pantry is open every Sunday, from 1pm to 4pm. Locations in Chesterfield Square, East Valley, and North Central.

  • Little Angels Project – Assists with food at their wellness clinics

  • Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control – Assists with food and supplies. Call 562-519-0339 or email access2care@animalcare.lacounty.gov and they will get back to you.

  • Meals on Wheels - Many of their local programs offer pet food deliveries.

  • Michelson Found Animals - Offers weekly pet pantries in Los Angeles, Paramount, and East Los Angeles.

  • Operation Blankets of Love - works directly with caseworkers on behalf of people experiencing homelessness, food banks and pet pantries, as well as six transitional shelters in the greater Los Angeles Areas to provide supplies and food for pets.

  • Orange County Animal Allies - No Empty Bowls program helps people in our community who need time to get back on their feet while preventing their pet from going hungry or being relinquished to a shelter due to lack of resources. We acquire, store, and donate pet food and pet care items to local organizations feeding our low-income community

  • Pasadena Humane - The Helping Paws Pet Food Bank offers free food and supplies to dog and cat owners in need within our 11 service cities.

  • Paws/LA - Provides services to assist low-income seniors, veterans and people disabled by illness to ​keep and care for their pets.

  • Pet Help Finder - helps locate financially friendly pet resources such as veterinary care, spay/ neuter clinics, vaccines, pet supplies and pet food assistance in your local area.

  • Rescue Train – Pet pantry for low-income families, seniors living on fixed incomes, veterans and the homeless to feed their animals.

  • Ruff Patches – Based in the Antelope Valley, their Rainy Day Fund is comprised of two different programs – the Pet Food Bank and the Veterinary Assistance Fund.

  • San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates - Services include pet food for low-income families.

  • SCV & AV Pet Food Pantry – Based in the Antelope Valley, message them on their Facebook page for more information

  • Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund - They offer several community programs including free pet food pantries.

  • The Cat People - based in Bakersfield. They have a food assistance program where they provide severely low-income recipients a limited amount of food and litter on a monthly basis for their own pets depending on the amount of donations received. Please call into their office to inquire about being put on the Food Assistance list.

Human Support

  • Grace Resource Center Based in Lancaster they provide a food pantry. The schedule is available on their website.

  • Los Angeles Mission - Based in Los Angeles. The Mission helps low-income individuals and families in need to access perishable food items and toiletries through a weekly Food Box program.

  • The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank Pantry locator tool on their website allows you to find a local food pantry near you. Enter your address and the website will provide a list of partner agencies nearest to you.

  •  Rescue Mission Alliance Antelope Valley The Rescue Mission Alliance Antelope Valley has helped individuals in need in a variety of ways, including food distribution, meals, shelter and recovery programs.
